MMU Ambala notifies All India Entrance Test MDS Course admission 2015-16

The University will conduct All India Entrance Test for admission to the MDS courses in the MM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research/MM College of Dental Sciences and Research Mullana for the session 2015-16

Subject wise Seats of MDS

i) Prosthodontics (06), ii) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (06), iii) Periodontics (05), iv) Conservative Dentistry (6), v) Oral Pathology & Microbiology (04), vi) Orthodontics (06), vii) Pedodontics (06), viii) Oral Medicine & Radiology (04) & Public Health Dentistry (03); Total: 46 Seats

Course Duration

The period of training for obtaining MDS degree shall be three academic years including the period of examination
The candidates shifting from one subject to another or joining the course from waiting list within one month the starting of the session (closing date of admission) will be permitted to take the examination along with the regular batch
On the other hand, the priod of abasence (even less than 30 days) due to any reasons, after the closing date of admission i.e. 30 days from the start of the session shal not be condoned

Eligibility Conditions

A candidate will be eligible for appearing in the Entrance Test for Admission MDS Course if he/she:
He/she is a citizen of India
Has passed BDS examination from any Dental College / Institution recognized by the Dental Council of India/Govt. of India
Has completed satisfactory or is liable to complete one year compulsory rotator internship by 30th April 2015 from colleges recognized by the Dental Council of India
Is registered with the State Dental Council/DCI at the time of admission
Possesses a certificate of good conduct from the Head of the Institution last attended
The candidate will have to submit the above-mentioned certificates, in original at the time of counseling without which the admission shall not be granted
The certificates of completion of internship and registration to be submitted by 20th May 2015 positively, failing which their Provisional Admission will stand cancelled without further notice
A candidate who is already admitted to a course in any institution is eligible to apply for another course only after passing the first course
An undertaking to this effect will have to be submitted by the candidate. Concealment of facts would invite joined the course leaves if before completion of full period:
i) he/she will be debarred from applying for admission to any PG Course in the MM College of Dental Sciences & Research, Mullan - Ambala for next three years:
ii) he/she will have to execute a bond for payment of full fee of the MDS Course at the time of admission and in case he/she leaves before the completion of full period of the course, he will be liable to pay the bond money

Admission Procedure

The application form duly completed in candidate’s own handwriting should reach the Admission office of the University at Administrative Block, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana - Ambala, Haryana-133207 on or before 09th February 2015 by 04.00 p.m.
It may be delivered either personally or sent under registered post. Incomplete Application forms or those received after the closing date/time will not be considered
Incomplete application form or form received after the closing date/time will not be considered
The Competent Authority takes no responsibility for any postal delay in the receipt or loss of Application Form or any document/correspondence in transit
Documents to be enclosed with the Application Form
a) Certificates of passing BDS examination of all the years from an Institution recognized by the DCI / Govt. of India
b) Four copies of recent photograph (passport size) duly attested by the Director/Principal of the College/Gazetted Officer or the employer in case of those in employment to be affixed on the Application form and Admit Cards
c) Internship Completion Certificate certifying the date on which the candidate has completed /is liable to complete one year compulsory rotating internship; the date of completion of internship should not be beyond 30th Mar 2015
d) Character Certificate reporting on the inter-personal / social behavioural pattern of the applicant from the Head of the Institution last attended
e) Proof that the Dental College from which the candidate has passed BDS Exam is recognized by DCI; the Certificate should be signed by the Head of the Institution from which the candidate has passed the BDS course; in the absence of this certificate, admission shall not be granted
f) Certificate of Registration with the State Dental Council/DCI at the time of admission
g) Attested Photocopy of Matriculation / High School / ICSE certificate or a certificate of its equivalent examination as proof of date of birth
h) No Objection Certificate from the Employer in the case of the candidate, who is in service
i) Affidavits against Ragging (to be submitted at the time of Counselling)
j) Migration Certificate (in original) by such candidate who has passed the last exam who have passed the last exam from a University other than MM University, Mullana; if not readily available, it can be submitted within 15 days from the date of admission

Scheme of Entrance Test

The Test will be held on Saturday 14th February 2015 from 02.00 p.m. to 03.30 p.m. at Examination Hall, M.M. University Campus, Mullana-Ambala
As per conditions, the candidates who secure less than 50% marks in the entrance test shall not be eligible for admission to the MD/MS/Diploma Courses on the basis of the result of this entrance test
i) The test will consist of one paper of 360 marks carrying multiple choice questions;
ii) Duration of paper: One hour and 30 minutes (02.00 p.m. to 03.30 p.m.)
iii) Number of questions (items): 120
The test booklet will contain 120 MCQs of best response type
The candidates are required to carefully read the instruction sheet on the question booklet before attempting

How to fill in the Application Form

A candidate seeking admission to the Diploma courses is required to send his/her application on the prescribed form appended in the prospectus
Before filling up the Application Form, the candidate must familiarize himself/herself with the information given in this prospectus and check his/her eligibility to appear in the exam; the candidate is required to go through the prospectus carefully and acquaint himself/herself with all the requirements with regard to the filling-in of the Application Form
Application Form should be filled in English only
The candidate shall fill-in the Application Form in his/her own handwriting in the block letters written neatly and legibly with blue/black ink within the prescribed boxes
Overwriting/cutting/erasing in the Application Form may lead to rejection of the Application and should be avoided; any error arising on this account shall be the responsibility of the candidate
It is advisable to first fill in a photocopy of the form and then the main document
Application Form duly completed must be accompanied by one self addressed stamped envelopes (10" x 4½") with postal stamps of Rs.40/- affixed on the envelope
The last date for receipt of Application Form duly completed in all respects is 09th February 2015 by 04.00 p.m.
Application forms received after the last date fixed for receipt of application forms shall not be entertained
Neither the cost of the application form nor the amount sent in lieu of the downloaded form will be refunded in any case
No intimation to the candidates whose applications are received late will be sent by the University

Admit Card

The candidates will fill in three Admit Cards each annexed to the Application Forms
The Original will be sent to them by Speed Post/Courier
If the same does not reach them in time, they can collect their
Duplicate Admit Cards from the Exam centre specified in the prospectus in the morning on 14th February 2015 (from 09.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon)
The admit card will bear the candidate's roll number, examination centre, candidate's name, father’s name, photograph and signature
The candidate should carefully examine the admit card received by him/her for all the entries made therein In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should immediately inform the Convener, Admission Office of the University
Prospectus-cu-Application Form can be obtained from the University during working hours on payment Rs.2500/- or can be downloaded from the University website should be accompanied by a Demand Draft amount
