Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) extend over 200 acres is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) and General Medical Council of UK and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka and was created in the year 1986 at Balagangadharanatha Nagar (B.G.Nagar) located along NH 48, 107 KM from Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka State.

Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) was created in the year 1986 at BG Nagar, near Sri Adichunchanagiri Kshetra with a dream of providing medical education to desire students from rural areas.

An AIM was opened by the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri Ramakrishna Hegde on 17th Jan 1986 in the holy presence of Padmabhushana Dr. Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji. An AIM has evolved into a prestigious institution in the region since its inception.

It is first rural educational institution catering to the health needs of the rural populace in preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative domains beside teaching and training for Undergraduate (UG) of MBBS and Post Graduate (PG) students. The Institutions is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) and General Medical Council of UK.

The departments of Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Radiology, Medicine, Anesthesiology and Orthopedics possess modern high-tech instruments are mentioned earlier. The diagnostic procedures that the carried out are on par with the prescribed International Standards.
