All necessary information regarding the taking of PMET-2015, allocation of merit and seeking admission to MBBS & BDS courses in the various Medical & Dental Colleges of Punjab affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot
Punjab Medical Entrance Test
which is more frequently known as PMET. This Entrance Exam is
organized by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. This
entrance is held for providing admission to the eligible candidates in
different graduate level courses in Medical and Dental Education
This entrance is for admission in the courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS. PMET
enables the candidate to take admission in the Medical Colleges in the
Punjab University and other attached Medical College in the state both
Private and Govt.-aided colleges of Punjab
Eligibility Criteria for PMET 2015
a) Candidate must be an Indian Ciziten
b) Candidate must be 17 year of age on or before 31st December 2015
c) They should have passed in such
qualifying examination from a recognized institution in the subjects of
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English separately and should have
obtained atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) taken
together
Candidate must have passed in the
subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English
individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (45% for
persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs and 40% for SC/BC)
taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology (PCB) in
10+2 examination or other equivalent examination of 10+2
Candidate should have passed qualifying examination as under:
a) The higher secondary examination
or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to
10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the
last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology
after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years education structure as
recommended by the National Committee on Education; OR
b) Any other exam which, in scope
and standard is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science
examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry
and Biology/ Biotechnology including a practical test in each of these
subjects and English
In order to be eligible for
admission to MBBS/BDS course, it shall be necessary for the candidate
to obtain minimum of 50% marks (45% for persons with locomotory
disability of lower limbs and 40% for SC/BC categories) in PMET-2015
The inter-se-merit of candidates for tie-breaking in PMET-2015 shall be determined in the following manner:
a) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the PMET-2015
b) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the PMET
c) Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects in the PMET
d) Candidates older in age
After the declaration of the PMET -
2015 result, the candidates will apply on the specific proforma for
all seats except All India quota seats to Baba Farid University of
Health Sciences, (BFUHS), Faridkot. Admission will be made by the
selection committee through a centralized counselling by BFUHS,
Faridkot on the basis of inter-se merit of PMET - 2015
Children/wards/dependents (whose
parents are not alive) of all those Punjab Govt pensioners who have
retired on or before 1st January of the year of passing 10+2 exam and
have settled outside Punjab on or before 1st January of the year of
passing 10+2 exam and their children/wards/dependants were compelled to
do class XII outside Punjab
A candidate who passed his/her 10th
and 10+2 examinations or other equivalent examination form a
recognized School/Institution situated in Chandigarh Union Territory
shall also be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS provided Chandigarh UT
administration permits students of Punjab for admission to MBBS/BDS in
its Medical/Dental Colleges
Age Limit for Punjab PMET 2015 MBBS Entrance Test
Candidates who are going to appear
for the Punjab Medical Entrance Test 2015 are required to fulfill the
age critieria set by the University
For appearing in this entrance exam candidate must have attain the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the said age on or before 31st December 2015 where as the maximum age limit is 25 years of age as on 31st December 2015
Result not declared: The
candidate, whose result of qualifying exam is not declared till the
last date of applying, will have to produce the result of qualifying
exam by the time of counselling. Marks obtained in Mathematics in class
XII exam shall not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS courses
Reservation
Govt Medical/Dental College - Out of the total seats, 15% seats (All India Quota) in MBBS/BDS courses would be filled by Govt. of India through centralized counseling by CBSE on the basis of merit in AIPMT-2015
The reservation for the State quota
seats in Govt. Institutes in various categories for admission to the
under Graduate courses in Govt. Medical Institutes will be as under:
Among the total numbers of seats
allotted by this exam 25% of the seats are reserved for SC category
students, 5% are reserved for backward category students and 2% of
seats shall be reserved for boarder area candidates
Candidates who are sport person has
1% reservation, 01% for wards of terrorist affected persons and 1% for
the children of freedom fighters and 1% for the Kashmiri migrant
candidates appearing in the Entrance Examination
This is applicable on all MBBS/BDS candidates except 15% All India Quota and NRI seats
For more details of the
institutions and category wise seats will be available on the official
website of Government of Punjab and Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences, Faridkot i.e. www.punjabmedicaleducation.org and www.bfuhs.ac.in
Provided however, that in case
adequate numbers of candidate are not available for BDS course,
candidates who are not residents of Punjab shall also be considered
Fee Required with Online Application Form:
Rs.5000/- for General Category
(Rs.2500/- for SC categories only) be deposited in any branch of the
Oriental Bank of Commerce throughout India by using Bank challan form
which is generated after applying online through University website
i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in by due date and time
Candidates who will apply after 29th April 2015 required to pay late fee of Rs.3000/- in addition to the above mentioned fee; the last date of apply with late fee is 04th May 2015
Fee once deposited in University account will not be refunded /adjusted
Important Instructions & Procedure to fill Online Admission Application Form:
Before applying, candidate should carefully read PROSPECTUS for eligibility conditions and other important instructions
Only one application is to be
submitted by a candidate; submitting more than one application by a
candidate is liable to be rejected
Candidate ensures that he/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2015
After filling online application,
candidate should have to deposit requisite fee in the University
account through any branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce by using Bank Challan Form, which will be generated after filling online application form at university website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in. Fee shall not be accepted in any other mode i.e. cash, Cheque, Demand Draft etc
After filling online application
form by candidate, University will issue a Unique Registration ID.
Registration id (i.e. Login Id) and password will be provided to the
candidate at his/her registered Mobile Number through SMS and Email
Admit card will be issued against
those Registration Id's, against which Registration Id application fee
has been remitted within a stipulated date and time
Candidate should have to apply online on or before 29th April 2015 and with late fee by
04th May 2015; after this online application form will not be
available at the University website and no request will be entertained
in this regard
Fee should be deposited by 07th May 2015 by 04.00 pm; fee once deposited will not be refunded/adjusted in any case
Admission process shall start with
the presence of four members (Chairman and three others) Members coming
late can participate, at the stage where such member/members join the
counselling process and the proceedings already completed will not be
revised. All members of the interview committee shall mark their
attendance and if a member fails to do so, the Chairman and all other
members record his / her presence or video-graph the proceedings
University will ensure proper
display of the available seats for the information of the candidates
through suitable arrangement in the waiting hall, hall where the
documents will be checked and the hall where the counselling will take
place
The admission fee will be paid by
the candidate at the time of Counselling. The draft for admission fee
shall be in favour of Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health
Sciences, Faridkot payable at Faridkot
How to upload Photograph: To
upload your photograph you have to login by entering your Registration
No and Password. The size of photograph should not be more than 20-KB.
Candidate may use third party software i.e. http://www.shrinkpictures.com to resize their photograph before uploading
Candidate can use A4 size envelope to send printout of application form complete in all aspects by stipulated date and time
The address for sending application form (i.e. "The Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Sadiq Road, Faridkot, PIN-151203") will be printed at the last page of Application form and you have to paste it on the A4 size envelope. Candidate should write "Admission Application form for MBBS/BDS courses" on the top of the right side of the Envelope
Important: In
case candidate wants to make any change in his/her online application
form after locking, he/she has to write separate application wherein
he/she will clearly describe that what information he/she wants to
modify. He will also attach printout of his/her online application form
and submit his/her request personally in the University before 16th May 2015 (i.e. one day prior to conduct of PMET-2015) with correction/editing fee of Rs.500/- in the shape of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Science, Faridkot
The update in this regard will be made available on University Website www.bfuhs.ac.in
Punjab PMET 2015 Important Dates
Availability of Prospectus at University Website (www.bfuhs.ac.in). Hard copy of Prospectus can be had from University after paying Rs.200/- in cash: 07th April 2015
Last date for applying online through University website (i.e. www.bfushs.ac.in): 29th April 2015 (without late fee)
Last date for applying online through University website (i.e. www.bfushs.ac.in): 04th May 2015 (with late fee of Rs.3000/-)
Last date for deposition of application fee of Rs.5000/- (Rs.2500/- for SC) in any branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce, through Bank Challan form which is generated after filling of online application form: 07th May 2015 by 04.00 PM
