Aarupadai Veedu Medical College is situated in Puducherry, Pondicherry. It was established
in 2000 and is managed under Vinayaka Missions, a charitable Trust, since its
establishment. The college is affiliated to Pondicherry University and
recognized by the state government. Aarupadai Veedu Medical College is approved
by Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi. It offers Bachelor of Medicine
and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course of 5½ years duration, including the 1 year
of internship period. Aarupadai Veedu Medical College is fully equipped with
all basic infrastructural facilities and provides full exposure to its
students, so they can develop their key skills and gain practical knowledge.

intermediate or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with
minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the PCB group. 40% in the case of SC / ST.
Applicants must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the

less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
taken together both at qualifying and competitive examinations.

instead of 50% Candidates who have passed any qualifying examination shall

Eligibility for PG
Courses:
- The candidate must possess recognized MBBS degree and
should have obtained permanent Registration as medical practitioners with
the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils.
- In the case of foreign nationals holding non-schedule
foreign medical qualifications, they must have temporary Registration
(issued by Medical Council of India) for the duration of their
postgraduate Training restricted to the medical college / institution to
which they are admitted for the time being for post graduate studies and
for no other purpose.
Selection of students
The students applying for PG
degrees/PG (Dip)/ Higher Specialties courses under Vinayaka Missions University
shall be selected based on “ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION” conducted by this
University.

The Aarupadai Veedu Medical
College and Hospital, was established at Pondicherry in the year 2000, with
due approval from the Government of India and Medical Council of
India. The first batch of 100 Medical students was admitted
successfully for the academic year 2000-2001. Presently 800 students are
studying in the College.
All pre-clinical and Para-clinical
departments are located in the college premises. They are fully equipped
with their own Laboratory, Library, Demonstration Room and Museum. The
necessary basic equipments and staffs are available in the college. Med-Varsity
functioning in the Institution with the 15 systems. The college having both
intranet and internet services. This institution is tele-linked with other
members of VMU for telemedicine purposes.

The Aarupadai Veedu Medical College
and Hospital, was established at Pondicherry in the year 2000, with due
approval from the Govt of India and Medical Council of India.The first batch of
hundred Medical students were admitted successfully for the academic year
2000-2001.At Presen there are 800 students studying in the College.
All pre-clinical and Para-clinical
departments are located within the college premises. They are fully
equipped with their own Laboratory, Demonstration Room,Library and
Museum. The necessary basic equipments and staffs are available in the college.
The bed strength of the Hospital is
nearly about 750 beds.The ICCU & IMCU are fully equipped. The Central
Sterilization department and the Central Oxygen and Vacuum Connection functions
perfectly. At present 11 Air-conditioned Operation Theatres are available in
the Hospital. Ventilators,Defibrillator, CT scan, new x-ray
machines,nephrology unit, ultrasound, dialysis machine and auto analyzer
are also available.
The college and hospital are housed
in the same compound. They are built on an area of 31 acres of land.
Apart from these two buildings, the institution also has students’ hostel,
C.R.R.I. hostel and staff quarters.New additions in the form of classrooms,
laboratories,demo halls and lecture hall are being constructed.In the hospital
there are 26 departments including Accident & Emergency. Patients from
Pondicherry as well as from surroundings villages attend the hospital.
